Kristin & Dawn helped us out on Monday and took not one but TWO of our adoptable beauties to Fox 28 for our weekly Adopt-a-pet!  The girls did a great job!  You can catch the video below:

Traveling with your pets this weekend?  Make sure you remember to bring the items listed below to ensure your pet is safe this holiday weekend:

• Take updated vaccinations / medical records with you on the trip.
• Carry a copy of your veterinarian’s business card or phone number.
• Pack any medications (including heartworm prevention).
• Make sure your pet’s collar has updated I.D. information.
• Have a leash and harness easily accessible.
• Pack containers of water for rest stops; plan to stop at least every two hours.
• Have an adequate supply of pet food in a watertight container.
• Never leave your pet in the car. Plan stops at pet friendly locations.
• Look for pet friendly hotels and call ahead to make reservations.
• For cats carry a litter box and supply of litter.

Please join us on May 27^th for our Annual Meeting.  It will be held at Bosco’s Place in Goshen at 6:30 PM.  A guest speaker will be present as well as DJ Construction to talk about the plans for the new building and the future of the Humane Society.

A dinner buffet from Martins Supermarket will be provided for just $12.00 a plate.  Additionally you may register to become an individual member for $25.00, family membership for $50 and corporate membership for $250.  Each membership category is entitled to 1 vote during the business proceedings.  An awards ceremony and business meeting will follow.

There are many new and exciting plans for your Humane Society.  We encourage you to attend and be a part of the positive strides we will take on behalf of animal welfare!

Exciting news! Our shelter won a Cinco de Mayo Puppy Piñata Celebration prize package from a national shelter contest from Puppy Pinata, LLC. SYNOPSIS:

It is the mid 1930’s in New York and Alice Sycamore has fallen in love. But there is just one problem – her wacky, offbeat family has to meet her fiancés conservative, uptight Wall Street-bred parents. When the two families come together for dinner (on the wrong night) at the Sycamore home, chaos ensues as lifestyle and philosophy collide head-on. The classic comedy is full of fun around every corner, and every corner is stuffed full of oddities in the Sycamore home.

*We are in this play as well!  Well, kinda…A group of kittens being fostered by a staff member are starring in this play.  They are also available for adoption!*
