Humane Society of Elkhart County

This years Annual Meeting was a huge success!  Members of the community came to Bosco’s Place for a great dinner catered by Martin’s Supermarket.  After dinner, Eric gave a terrific speech about the shelter and the future of the shelter.

We gave awards out to Bernice Simms, Carol Rogers, Grant Natalie, Jena Shimkus, Dawn Braniff and Fox 28 News!  We had over 60 people attend the event!

Thanks to everyone who joined us that evening and can’t wait till next year!

We’ve been adopted!!!! Isn’t that exciting?!  It is for us!  Budman and Slinky are just 2 of the many dogs and cats we have here at the humane society.  Come visit us!

Is it kibble?

A good little lap dog I must say.  He sits very pretty too when you talk to him.  He’s a cutie who needs a good home!  You can find him at the Humane Society!  Come and see Mr. Spacely and all of our other dogs that need good homes!

Ha!  You guys thought I was only on TV on Monday’s!  BUT I tricked you and was asked to come on Saturday to News Center 16!!

And I brought Slinky with me!  Slinky is a Basset mix with lots of love.  She loves to sit in your lap.  So please come and give slinky a good home!

Meet Ecto!  He is such a little gentlemen.  While we were waiting to go on the air, he was cuddling with me and loving every minute of it.  He also purr’s non-stop!  He’s going to make someone very happy!  If you’re interested in Ecto, call us at the shelter at 574-848-4225!

Anyways, meet Budman!  He’s a 4 year old Beagle who actually is well behaved (until he wants to be heard!).  He does very well with other people and other dogs.  He’s easy going and loves to go for walks!  He was a stray that came to us and we’re eager to find him a home!

A wonderful WONDERFUL thing happened for us on Saturday.  We were visited by Pawsitively Pampered Pet Mobile Grooming!!!!  Not only did they come to us, but they took 3 of our dogs going home on that day and groomed them for FREE!  YES, I said it!  FREE!!!!  It was a blessing!  It saved us time from having to do it ourselves.  Not to mention, since they are professionals, the dogs looked 10 times better than what we could do.  Here are some pictures of the event!

We both went home this week!  Isn’t that fantastic!!  The power that television has should never be underestimated.  I hope these 2 dogs live a very happy and enjoyable life!  Thank’s to Fox 28 News for helping us as well!
