My name is Rachel and I am a Board Member for the Humane Society of Elkhart County. I have served on the board for almost 3 years now and have loved every minute of it. I am also the designer and keeper of the Humane Society’s website! I currently work for a commercial real estate company but soon I will be embarking on a new adventure (details to come soon!).
My husband and I have 4 kids. Two cats and Two Dogs. Ok Ok, so they’re not actualy KIDS but in our eyes they are! Charlie (mix breed) and Vinny (pug) came from the shelter. Our Two cats, Noel & Friday, were rescued off the street. Noel was found on Christmas Eve outside in the snow and Friday was brought to me by someone I work with who found her in the storm. The goal was to find Friday a home, which we did…. but I couldn’t let her go

My goal for this blog is to bring our community and the shelter together. I’ll be posting events, news and important links you should know. As well as Pictures of available animals and fun pictures to make you smile. You may leave comments if you like but I do ask to please comment positively.
